Activities in winter and summer
The area of Pyhä-Luosto has two year-round holiday centers. Both Pyhä and Luosto are popular ski resorts in winter time. In the summer, Pyhä-Luosto National Park invites all camping and hiking enthusiasts to its beautiful trails.
Pyhä is the southernmost mountain area in Finland and offers memorable and relaxing activities for all the seasons. For instance, the Aittakuru Amphitheater offers various music and culture events during summer.
Straight to the hiking trails
There are a total of 102 kilometres of marked hiking trails in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. The trails are perfect for everything from short hour-long walks to long hiking trips that span across days.
Ski slopes and ski trails next to your front door.
The ski trails in Pyhä and Luosto are connected. In total, these two mountain areas have more than 170 kilometres of ski trails for you to enjoy. This includes around 30 kilometres of lighted trails – 15 km in both Luosto and Pyhä. Almost all the ski trails can be used for classic (in-track) and skate skiing.
The ski slopes of Pyhätunturi offer a large variety of experiences & challenges:
- 8 lifts, 14 slopes
- Top of the mountain from surrounding area 280 m, top at 500 m above sea level
- Longest slope 1800 m
- Lift capacity 10 400 skiers an hour
- Same ticket can be used also in Ruka
Take the lift to the top in the summer
During the summer season, the 6 person PyhäExpress lift takes you to the top! The view in the summer time is just as breathtaking as in the winter.
Activities for kids
The Kids’ World next to the Polar Slope is the perfect place for the youngerst of your family to train downhill skiing or snowboarding safely. In addition to skiing, there’s various different playground toys for the kids to have fun with. The kids’ cable lift is also free for all!
